A device is considered locked means you can only use SIM cards provided by a specific carrier. In order to use eSIMs, your devices should be carrier-unlocked, that means you can use SIM cards from any carrier.
In addition, please check the list below to ensure your devices support eSIMs. As more eSIM-compatible devices are released, this list will continually expand. You can also click system name here to search faster:
iOS System
Note: iPhone and iPad purchased from Mainland China and Hong Kong cannot support eSIMs.
iPad without WiFi + Cellular features cannot support eSIMs.
Suggested iOS version: iOS 13.3 or later
Android System
Note:
All Samsung S20 FE/S21 cannot support eSIMs.
Most Samsung devices purchased from South Korea cannot support eSIMs except Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
US versions of Samsung S20/S2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 cannot support eSIMs.
Hong Kong versions of Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 cannot support eSIMs.
Google Pixel 3a purchased from South East Asia cannot support eSIMs.
Australia, Taiwan, and Japan versions of Google Pixel 3 cannot support eSIMs.
Google Pixel 3 purchased from US or Canadian carriers cannot support eSIMs.
